24. Having Perspective is valuable for taking action
Monday May 20, 2024
Monday May 20, 2024
In this episode, we talk about letting go of the fear of getting started. One of the biggest reasons so many people hold themselves back from their dreams and goals is because they are worried about the competitive space. They constantly hear an industry is too saturated, that there is no room and that to really make it they have to be original. This episode discusses why it is okay to try something regardless of the competitive space because it is more important to be unique than original. There is so much value in allowing your perspective to be seen. As an example, we also discuss remakes and retelling of shows and movies to connect to a pop-culture example of why uniqueness works (Caution: a very hot take is discussed). Remakes are modern examples as to why you can do something that has already been done and still make it unique and the psychological appeal of familiarity.

23. Is being the "It Girl " no longer it?
Monday May 13, 2024
Monday May 13, 2024
Given the recent events such as the Met Gala, " Let them eat cake", and Block2024 movement, etc. along with world events escalating, are the stars falling? Wealth gaps growing increasingly larger, and overconsumption becoming a bigger issue, does this mean being the "it girl" is over? For the past years, people used terms like "it girl", "her", and "that girl" to romanticize their lives but with the economic state of the world, celebrity culture and influencer culture will be on the downturn unless they find a way to be more down to earth. Enter: the people's princess. A new word on the scene to describe the more down-to-earth upper class. In this episode, we cover it all to talk about how the state of the world is influencing our beliefs and actions.

22. Remember to live, not just exist
Monday May 06, 2024
Monday May 06, 2024
Do you ever feel like you are just existing? Like you are breathing, physically here, but time is just passing you. As if the way you function is on autopilot. This episode will be a meaningful discussion about enjoying life again and discuss some of the reasons we get into that head space in the first place. This is not a professional opinion, more like a mere observation to start the conversation of the long-asked question " How does someone have a quality life?". Stay tuned!

21. The Underrepresented 20-something-yr-old Experience
Monday Apr 15, 2024
Monday Apr 15, 2024
This episode is a letter to the 20-something-year-olds who feel left out in the conversation of navigating their 20s. This is for introverts and loners who have to learn how to socialize, build support systems, and maintain them. The people who have to stay at their parents' house through college and maybe some years after. People who have anxiety about not accomplishing things fast enough. People who want to be that girl, guy, or person but their current life doesn't have the most ideal starting point. Sometimes wellness content feels unrelatable because your experiences aren't highlighted because of the lack of awareness but even if you aren't where you want to be, you will get there. This a reminder and a letter to you. Everyone deserves to remember that wellness and personal development are not a one-size-fits-all.

Spring is the season of rebirth, so with the eclipse/ new moon in the sign of Aries (the 1st sign of the zodiac), there is no better time to call in new energy. This spring (and by extension, summer) is all about hot girl (guy/person) energy and being the main character of our lives. We explore the concept of "main character energy," dispelling common misconceptions and highlighting its true meaning. Emphasize that "main character energy" is about aligning your decisions and actions with your values and living authentically. Lay also delves into the harmful effects of insecure behavior, societal beauty standards, cultural differences, and the importance of self-confidence.

19. How to make genuine friendships and connections
Thursday Mar 21, 2024
Thursday Mar 21, 2024
Loneliness is on the rise and have you ever stopped to think "why"? It is easy to write off our lack of connection as a result of technology (aka the digital age), but Lay hypothesizes it is more than simply that. In today's episode, we cover intent conversations such as "Basic" vs "Not like other girls", and "High Maintenance" friends vs "Low Maintenance" friends, and how those conversations create a deficit in having genuine connections. Additionally, we are including a list of considerations when it comes to making friends so we can reflect on what truly contributes to loneliness. Sometimes it's not about people being good or bad friends because that is subjective, but it's important to figure out the right friends for you!
Also since the full reading was not included here is the details on the Dragon spirit card:
SEEING ONE'S MOST TRUE SELF, BALANCING THE EGO
The Dragon sees everything. Its essence has been with us since before our first breath and will be there at our last. It watches us navigate the external world as well as our inner world.
When Dragon energy is awakened, we are courageous, visionary, and can easily drop into witness consciousness. It is almost as if we are traveling with a great friend inside of ourselves. When we look in the mirror, deep into our eyes, we may even glimpse the "self" behind the "self," the one who is watching us. This is the power of the Dragon breathing transformative fire into every cell of our bodies. Witnessing this omnipotent energy, even for a brief moment, helps us surrender and let go.
We let the Dragon guide us. We hop on its back for a ride, and as we traverse even the most difficult terrain, the Dragon's eyes see beauty everywhere. It is said that if a yogi does not see beauty in the world, their Agni is dim. Agni is described as"inner fire" or "sacred intelligence." May even just the mention of the Dragon stir the embers of intelligence within you.
The subtle energy of the Dragon lives at the navel center, in the Manipura chakra. Manipura translates to "the city of hidden gems" and behind its gates burns the fire of our transformation and digestion. The sages believe the health of the fire at the navel center is what governs our ability to clearly "see" both the inner and outer dimensions.
